Hi Matt (and everyone)!

Thanks for the warm welcome wink.gif

But I had a good sleep last night after posting in your suggestion thread, must post here often so I can sleep better :thumbwink:

Be warned, I've watched many martial arts movies and often kicked many butts in my dreams (if and when I get some sleep). They didn't used call me Bruce in high school for nothing tongue.gif

Is GKR originated from Japan? My gf is Jap so I better watch my tounge from now on...

All these reminds me of a joke: What's Bruce Lee's favourite drink?

Hello Franki...

If you want to be technical GKR did originate in Japan. It is a karate based on Go Jyu Ryu and Shotokan styles of karate which (I think) are both styles that originated in Okinawa (Japan).

BUT, Kancho Sullivan opened up the first dojo in Adelaide, South Australia back in the early 80's.

He obviously has a great rapport for business as it's become a world wide club.

Hope that explains a little of our history for you.

If anyone has any other views of the historical story behind GKR please feel free to add or correct. My knowledge is only from what I have heard or remembered from my magazine readings (Shimbun mainly).
