Mary Gave up last week thumb.gif after 25yrs of smoking ohmy.gif , in the past i would know within the day, that she had given up.We would all run for cover lol, and indeed i would end up buying her some more ciggs, so peace could decend on the house once again.
Not so this time 6 days in, and all is wellish dunno.gif .
Mary we are all proud of you keep it up.

So past experience tells me, the MRS will know within a day, and that it doesnt matter anyway, he wont stop.
Goyle
Mick's a Smoker! ohmy.gif

I said within 24 hours, because people quitting seem to get in suuuuch bad moods from withdrawal, etc.

Oh, and females notice things tongue.gif
Goyle
LOL, nigel. smile.gif

When my parents gave up, I ended up staying with my grandparents for a couple of weeks as a run for cover tactic. Very VERY scary being around people quitting..

There is too many bits to the question...
If she noticed within 24 hours, would she comment? Would Mick stop anyway? If she didn't notice within 24 hours, would this cause Mick to decide stopping wasn't worth it and start again?
Stay tuned.... smile.gif
Tom
I didn`t even know Mick was married.......
Brodius
Yeah, who would be able to put up with him?
Sionnagh
It's been 42 hours so far... biggrin.gif
Matt
great....class is gonna be fun tomorrow dry.gif
Nooms
Go Mick! jump4joy2.gif And she's noticed now, right? Just not making any comment because she is overwhelmed with joy?
Goyle
Well done! 42 hours is great!

Soon you'll get your sense of taste back and then the world will be even better..

thumb.gif
Nooms
And that explains the coffee problem.
Sionnagh
No comments from herself yet.. But I'll excuse her for tonight since she had her graduation this evening. wink.gif

Mick
Nooms
I'm sure she is very pleased with you on the inside.
Brodius
...I doubt it I think. I'm glad I'm not the only one who voted "Doesn't matter, he won't stop"
Thatmanwaters
Hows it going Mick? 9 days for mary now, but the neighbours know now as well, ye gods think i may have to visit a newsagents today. sad.gif
Sionnagh
It's going fine, Nigel. In another hour or so it'll be 4 days. biggrin.gif But this morning I was asked to do a small job outside "next time I go out for a smoke". I guess I'll be in trouble for not doing it soon... sad.gif

Nooms
Err.... yes..... much easier..... wired.gif sob.gif
I keep falling off and climbing back on and it's been... 26 hours this time. But I will probably end up starting again tomorrow afternoon. And quitting again Saturday morning.... at least then the major stresses should be over for a while!
Thatmanwaters
Thats it im off up the shops tongue.gif keep plugging away Nooms
Sionnagh
5 days biggrin.gif So far everyone who's voted has been wrong tongue.gif

coffeepaper.gif
Mick
Warren
Mick is it youv'e given up for five days, or that your wife hasn't noticed yet ?dunno.gif

Because my understanding was the poll was about how long before the trouble & strife noticed and commented on you giving up blink.gif

Anyway keep it up thumb.gif

Warren
Goyle
Ah, but has she noticed, and just not said anything?

People who smoke always smell (and taste) of cigarettes. So therefore, she would have HAD to note the change in taste/smell around you.....
Susan
my guess is the kids will notice first...

but either way

keep up the good work mick....
it's worth quitting just for the game of "how long will it take?"
wink.gif
Goyle
hmm... more people have voted "he wont stop" that those who gave a time frame...

Prove 'em wrong, mick!!!!! thumb.gif
Sionnagh
Well since my last ciggy was around 7pm last Sunday (13th) it's not far to go now to the 1-week mark biggrin.gif

But twice in the last couple of days when we've been to the shops she's asked if I need more smokes... dunno.gif I dunno if it means she's not noticed sad.gif or if it's a "fer chrissake go buy some and give us all a break" thing lol.gif

Matt
I noticed a definate tobacco smell wednesday night Mick but was too polite to mention it.......especially as it was my turn to hold the kick bag biggrin.gif
Nooms
FTR, I didn't vote he won't stop... and I am so proud to have been present at the finish of the last smoke. smile.gif
The wife however, I am very disappointed in. She made me look wrong! wink.gif

Sionnagh
I'll give you all a hint. If you haven't voted yet, pick "More than a week".

Hmm wondering if I should have put more options in....

When I stopped the missus noticed immediately - possibly because I kept blathering on about what a martyr I was being!!

Thatmanwaters
My god Mick you must be a saint, to go that long without ciggys, and the Mrs has only just noticed.
Well done on not smoking though, keep it up.

Nooms how are you doing?

Marys gone 33 days now, she has a chart on the wall, and has saved enough for us all to go to seni 2005 (big martial arts show) for two days, and by the time the show is here in april the hotel will be covered as well and we will have money to burn , no pun intended. bigclap.gif
Me im just off to the docs to top up on the valium wink.gif
Susan
That's great Mick...

Did you finally get in trouble for not doing that job outside???
Sionnagh
