Hey thank you Matt.

And welcome MatB.

I just had a look around the website and found it to be an amazing source of information. So many things to do and see.
If you haven't had a chance to to look at it, get in there and check it out as soon as you can.

Great stuff MatB

Hello fellow karateka, thanks so much for the warm welcome, and the generous words about my web site...

It's become my passion to create the ultimate resource for GKR senseis and students, and fortunately, as I'm self-employed, I can work on the site almost any time I like!

I always appreciate the opportunity to exchange opinions with dedicated karateka such as you folks, especially when they are fellow senseis. I make it a point to try to visit all of the other classes in my region at least once, and even though in terms of teaching time, I guess I'm a senior sensei in my region, I always pick up at least one useful new teaching tip watching others teach. I'm compiling a compendium of useful expressions that can be used to help students to visualise techniques - for instance, the hammerfist to the head in saifa, I heard a sensei describe the crooked wrist as "Like loch ness monster". The kids instantly know the shape of nessie's head sticking out of the water, and now they apply that visualisation to their wrist. Another good one describes gedan barai as "drawing a line down your other arm with a marker pen".

I won't give you any more because I'm hoping that you might have some of your own to share...

In the meantime, I'd like to offer my very warmest wishes from a UK that's excited about hosting the World Cup in a few months. I'd also like to apologise in advance to all the disappointed Aussies who won't be going home with a medal. Ha ha ha! ;-)
