WASHINGTON (CNN) -- U.S. and coalition forces launched missiles and bombs at targets in Iraq as Thursday morning dawned in Baghdad, including a "decapitation attack" aimed at Iraqi President Saddam Hussein and other top members of the country's leadership.

Regardless of your personal opinion in this matter, please spare a thought for those involved.

What annoys me is the people who give the soldiers etc hassle about it. Like they have any choice about it!

As a former infantry soldier myself I agree Mick.
I do give Johnny Howard credit for saying "if you disagree take it out on me, not them."

The up-side is...

I thought I was going to miss the start of a show on TV the other night, but with the extended news coverage it meant the show started later than it would have.

Always look for the positive in something!

I don't really get much of a chance to follow the happenings of the war, but I find it difficult to accept.

I don't see why we need to have war these days.
War is something from the past.

I just hope we don't have to have a "Football League of Their Own" (Madonna movie about baseball in the 2nd world war).

Well, I don't know if I agree with the need for war or not. If it was needed, it shuld probably have been done years ago. However, I strongly disagree with all the moralistic crap that our (UK) government and the Yanks are spouting in justification. Like we all forgot the civil rights abuses and lies and ways we let down people in Serbia and Afghanistan. Not to mention the fact that we gave Saddam the damned weapons in the first place! When will we learn to stop trying to play God in other countries? It really pisses me off when I see the Americans pull 100 billion dollars out of thin air for a war when it can't even provide a free or affordable national healthcare system!

Bah, humbug!!!
