Mine is quite simple ... Having brought up my son up as a single parent since he was 5 (dont count girlfriends) we used part of our surname which meant I was BigBen and he was LittleBen although he now tends to use Thaiboxer and I should use EvenBiggerBen hahahhah

WHY is my nickname so? Well... I dunno.

Fuschia - A shade of pink/purple - I love girly colours!
Fairy - I am kinda well known for having an obsession with pretty fairies
Smurfette - That's Kathie's doing!
I was sick of the same old Jessie C!

Mine's dead easy,
I'm a massive Lord of the Rings Fan (Way before the films!"!) and Fangorn is the name of the big forest in which Treebeard the Ent lives.

Of Course, I think I was 10 when I first read the Lord of the Rings - the best book ever, apart from the Tom Bombadil bit of course!!

Mar 4 2005, 02:22 AM
Now I really like the Tom Bombadil part

but then again I even have the 46CD version read by Rob Inglis which I have converted onto DVD ... and after you have finished listening to it, it has taken so long so you could have been round the world a few times

HAYABUSA
Jun 15 2005, 11:03 PM
Hayabusa - well, the name sort of speaks for itself, doesn't it? It's because I love bikes, would love a Hayabusa aswell but I'd probably kill myself on one of those, so I'll leave it for a few years.
The background of the name Hayabusa is a japanese falcon which can (in a dive) reach speeds of up to 300 km/hour.
So it's all about speed... and Karate is about speed aswell so I thought it was quite matching.

Okay, you've got me, I've gotta ask:
Matt, what's your signature all about? First part makes sense but the second doesn't.
C'mon, fess up!

Its from Rammstein's Du Hast. Was listening to it the other day.
Theyre asking him the marriage vows and he gives a very definate reply

(yes yes theres a double entendre in there for those with babelfish

)

Okay, now my next obvious question:
RAMMSTEIN?!?!?!? WTF would you get something like that? Were you subjected to it by form of punishment or actually listened to it voluntarily? Sorry, they just make feel really depressed every time I listen to their songs....
.... and I won't mention being german now...
Tom
Jun 30 2005, 12:18 AM
Rammstein - I don't listen to em often, cos' they make me want to invade Poland.........
BTW Matts actually a closet Goth........

What seems like many moons ago now Kyle was choosing what music he wanted played as he entered the ring his choice was between Rammstein's Du Hast and Nazareths `expect no mercy` he asked me which one and we decided on Nazareth as at least I could understand it and thats coming from a Motorhead fan

... we had the German and English version of Du Hast which I think means something like `I hate`??? if I remember correctly-ish

Mitten

I have absolutely no idea what you lot are on about.

Why'd I choose Mitten? Sounded right at the time. And apparently my friends at uni think it suits me *shrug* my friends are weird

Never manage to get past Tom Bombadil, and I have tried so many times! Loved The Hobbit, but every time I pick up LOTR I get bored with it too quickly, put it down and go read something else then promptly forget everything I've read.

Lemmy was on a radio show many years ago and a few of the chaps were a bit

Boy bands do have their uses - they give us something to laugh and point at.

Can't beat the good old rock stuff though - Sabbath, Led Zep, Maiden, Metallica, Thin Lizzy, Deep Purple....I was definately born 15 years too late!

As to 'markp' - as a GKR instructor we has 4 Marks teaching, so to stop any confusion when I texted my class figures in, I'd sign it as markp. It just kinda stuck.

i like the pantera song that has hostile in the title
lately I think I like it due to the aussie trait of calling a red haired bloke "blue" and I am never hostile towards anyone.

pleb
Jul 21 2006, 03:37 AM
Pleb in England, at least, the part I'm from, is semi-insultive. To call someone a pleb is like calling them an idiot. Its short for plebian, which is a commoner in old English. I chose pleb 'cause I think its a brilliant word which my work mates and I use alot lately.
Real name is Simon but I prefare Si.

I came up with my name because my nickname is Duck. When I registered I didn't think Duck worked or was already taken, can't remember why. Anyway, Darkwing Duck is a pretty cool superhero so I stole his name.

hashi
Oct 26 2007, 07:37 PM
watched Last Samurai film soooo many times! I was learning Japanese kanji at the time; me and my brother watched the bit where he's learning all their names and saying simple japanese words....cos we're on the same wave-length(

) it was just repeated a few times in different places, turned into a ummm... i dunno what it is really... a word we can say to each other at any time/place and know we're referring to the last samurai
i had already learnt that hashi meant bridge,,,the film said hashi meant chopstick, so the word kinda stuck as a chopstick bridge
(me and my bro train together, challenge each other and encourage each other and both have a strange way of knowing what the others thinking! It's quite often our sensei will ask 'any questions' and we'll both go to ask the same one!! couple of years ago we hated each other!)
it's all a bit strange really...but my name is not hashi! it's Leanne!
Enlightened93

My username is based on my Ishoa cross. For those of you who haven't heard of it, it is a cross which is awarded to female martial artists in the style I train in (Zen Do Kai), which is supposed to be a Japanese translation (although apparently not entirely correct) of "Enlightenment". The males are awarded a Bushido cross, which of course translates as "Way of the Warrior". But to us, they both mean the same thing. The Ishoa is a small silver cross (pictured in my avatar at the moment) which usually is worn on a chain around the neck. The Bushido cross is similar, except square, not circular. They are usually awarded between brown belt level and 1st Dan level. The 93 at the end of my name is simply the year I was born.
