Full Version: zen chi ryu

tried this one for the first time today.

friend of mine instructs and I had been at him for ages to go and try it out.

Everything is different from the bow in to bow out!

Found it to be very hands on self defence wise with lots of punches, kicks, locks and take downs etc. Very street based style. Not alot of focus on proper technique like gkr, but I like both!

Did a little kata and even that is completely different tending towards a street fighting style of kata.

That, and the sensei didn't muck around and I was knackered half way through the class!

I'm staying with GKR to train with my kid but I'm gonna stick with zen chi ryu as well. Learning katas from two styles though is going to prove challenging!
