Full Version: New buttons

Jules
I've replaced the buttons on the default forum view. If I've missed any, please let me know. I already know there isn't one for the fast reply option, but it's a standard option so I'm not sure there needs to be a button for that....we'll see.

I've also been playing with a new forum view...have a look if you'd like. I'll warn you now..it's dark. (I have some more tweeking to do, but I've been putting off finishing my pressie wrapping and baking, so I'd best get to it) I know there's an issue with those who have the black symbol avatars...and like I said...I'll continue to play around so that this won't be a problem.

Let me know what you think, like or don't like. I'm not terribly fragile (today wink.gif )

Mick...since you are one of the ones I was worried about your avatar on the black background....I made a few little adjustments so it'd show up better on the chance you'd want to use the new skin smile.gif

Jules
and for russkris

if anyone else would like to have their avatar 'fixed' so it'll work on the black background, let me know. My talents are limited, but I'll do my best smile.gif
Susan
Those changes actually look prety good against the black background

it IS a little hard to read but it does look great

i'd suggest anyone that will be looking at the screen for long periods of time use the default setting.

Just a query...
some of the smilies have a white border around them.
is there a way of getting rid of that?
Brodius
Well, my "Link" avatar works just fine. And the buttons are purty... =P
russkris
Jules, that looks great. I love it. Thanks

I can fix that, it's not a problem at all smile.gif :thumbwink:

It'd prolly be best to wait 'til Matt upgrades the forum version we're running. It's possible there will be other things that will need replacing/fixing as well by the time we get to the latest version. *crosses fingers*

I like your changes Jules.

I prefer the red and white screen though. As Susan said earlier, it's a little hard to read and it hurts my eyes when I stare at it for too long (which I do, as I always have HEAPS of messages to catch up on).

Keep up the great work Jules.
Matt
Actually you should find white writing on a black background is better for your eyes - less like staring at a light bulb. The choice is yours, thats what they are there for smile.gif. We (and I mean me also this time sorry for my slackness jules wink.gif ) will add a few more skins shortly.
Brodius
I finally realised that I can change the skins myself, and you're right, the white writing on black looks so much better. My eyes are not afraid anymore. =O

I've found a smiley set for dark backgrounds...but since both skin options share the same smilie set..I'm not sure what it'll do on the white background....

We're going to set up a second site to do some testing and this will be one of the things we check out as well as some other new features and mods. (as soon as Matt gets it set up) wink.gif

If anyone else is unsure how to change their skin option let us know and someone will be glad to help you with that. Brodius, glad you figured it out and like it smile.gif
