Hi Folks,

I'm starting to suffer from sore elbows.......

I had this issue years back when I worked outside in all weathers, mauling bits of army equipment around. However, when I got a nice office job indoors it cleared up.
Now its back. It's not a pain so much, rather a dull ache. I work outside these days, but since its nowhere near as cold where I am - then its not that. I'm still lifting heavy-ish items though - which I can't really get out of.

Is there anything I can take that will help?

Some people swear by glucosamine sulphate. Its dear stuff though. Personally I take daily cod liver oil. Its supposed to be good for the joints. It also ensures you have a nice glossy coat and a wet nose, or maybe that's just dogs.

Is the discomfort right in the elbow or in the forearm just below the elbow? If its the latter its more likely a repetitive strain of the forearm muscles (ie. tennis or golfers elbow). If thats the case then at some point the condition may give you no choice but to stop doing whatever it is you'redoing to cause it.

Hi Mike,

The pain is right in the elbow, so I suspect that cod liver oil tablets would help there - not quite sure about the glossy coat, I rather suspect in a couple of years time I won't have to worry too much about my coat as the rotten curse of hereditary male pattern baldness takes its unfortunate toll....

However, the upside to this is that Micks hair grabs and subsequent takedowns won't work quite so well ............ at first!

Is it possibly tendon related rather than bone? Stimulating the blood flow to the elbow with massage and heat might help.

Or maybe you're just getting old wink.gif
