Can somebody tell me why there is a reluctance to fill out their viewing profiles, I'm a nosey bugger but if it's there fill it in, it's interesting to know a little bit about the people accessing the site and where they are from. scratchy.gif

Hi, im not really sure why i dont fill mine out, i guess its mostly cos im not very computer literate, and im afraid ill make myself look a complete plonker.Ido however when i get to know people better, divulge information about myself.Ican also be quite controversial and tell people the truth and some people dont like that.If theres no info on me theres no backlash for my family.

Nervously looks around! ph34r.gif ohmy.gif

although sometimes when i feel reckless i just dont care, who knows

Guess its a fear of putting personal info on the net for all to see.
This is fair enough, and is the reason why all fields are optional.

I agree however....it would be nice if people put a bit of info. Might find someone who shares a hobby etc. I dont actually think anyone except me and susan use their real names, so who's gonna know?

(/races off to check that he's actually put some info in his profile...)

well that prompted me to complete a little more biggrin.gif

I'm even using my real name unsure.gif tongue.gif which is a little academic because my usual online persona (squeaky) is just as well known to my 'in the flesh' family, friends and colleagues LOL rolleyes.2.gif

we would all like to hope that whatever interest or hobby that brings us together on the net engenders enough respect and a ppreciation of one another for any such personal information to be abused in some odd way - this is a particularly risk for the ladies (and maybe hunky Matt wink.gif ).

I even threw away the protection of distance as well as anonymity recently by meeting up with a crowd from another forum (and a more depraived and sad group of drunkard individuals you would never meet biggrin.gif :thumbwink: ) so after years and years of surfing have I lost my caution? fear? or just making the most of meeting new friends across a sadly inpersonal medium smile.gif

I'm using my real name....sort of wink.gif Tho since I'm not actually involved in karate myself I'm guessing I don't actually count.

I am thinking of getting my son started. He's 5 and could use some discipline biggrin.gif, self control and an outlet....then again, so could I!! tongue.gif It has been suggested that I look into it myself, but I think I'm gonna opt for line dancing instead wink.gif lol.gif

Hmm well.... since my ID is almost as well known as my real name, and I do sign everything I write as well...

I didn't fill mine out as I'm not associated with the club and didn't think it would be necessary.

Oh well... Here goes.

I put a bit more information in as well smile.gif
