What is the best style of karate to do between Shotokan and Wado?
Answer with a reason, please.

Nooms 2c:
Whichever one fits the asker the best - reason: everyone is different and you don't stick with the things that aren't suited to who you are, and what you do with your life, and how you're made.

Well, maybe I asked this wrong.
Which is the most successful style out of the two, which style would result in a more foreboding karate-ka
Perhaps it's impossible to answer?
It's just, Shotokan, with nearly every basic move there is a lot of preperation, where as in Wado there is not.

I think perhaps it's impossible to answer - one of those questions that comes back to the instructor rather than the style.

I think that, in terms of the basic syllabus rather than what an individual instructor may tack on, then Wado is the more sophisticated style.
Shotokan specialises in being very direct, a straight line effort to generate maximum power. Wado places much more emphasis on using tai-sabaki & ashi-sabaki in order to achieve nagashi (glancing/avoidance?) & irimi (entering) - much more effective IMO.

Wado Ryu and Shotokan are both cool styles. Personally I would like to study Wado Ryu because it has less kata and a wider variety of techniques. I like kata I just think you should really be good at a few kata rather than being so so at 20 or more.
In saying that id also like shotokan because it also has an interesting history and there are a fair few shotokan dojos around.
just my 2 cents idunno i wouldnt listen to me tho i cant even find one style to train in let alone have the option of 2
