The constant argument of is Karate better than Taekwondo still continues to go around. The other day I was in McDonalds and heard two guys arguing about this. I am a 3rd Dan in Shotokan and 1st degree in Taekwondo. I practiced Shotokan for around 16yrs and thought that nothing compared to it after fighting and training in TWD centres. However a few years ago I went to look at a new TWD club starting and found the instructor a strong and powerful fighter his only back ground is TWD. I joined the association and found crap instructors and fantastic instructors. Since then I realise both styles have good and bad practitioners. I found you can not argue until you try both

I would ask "better for what?". Depending on your goal(s) one might be better than the other. Every art presumably has its own unique qualities. Whether that makes it better or worse depends on what you want to get out of it.
