Sensei Craig Phillips has arranged for another weapons seminar during October.
Following the previous seminar there were many comments that knife was the part of the seminar that was both enjoyed and valued the most. In accordance with this, Craig has decided to dedicate the whole seminar to Tanto Jutsu (Japanese Knife Technique).

For those who did not attend the seminar before, the focus will be on both learning to use the knife as well as defending against it. Other themes may be covered to expand on the previous seminar.

Date: Saturday 27th October
Venue: Laindon Community Centre, Essex
Time: 1pm - 4pm
Price: £15 if paid before 20th October
£20 if paid after 20th October
Spectators fees are £2 per adult or £1 for children or OAP's

Anyone who does not have a knife can purchase a rubber one on the day at a cost of £3.50 each.

At the previous seminar there was a great deal of interest about DVD’s. These will be on sale on the day.
The 3 DVD's available are Sword, Nunchaku and Kobudo.
The Sword DVD comprises of 17 kata, including two person bokken and naked blade exercises. 20 iai - basic sword stroke drills, with frontal attacks, rear attacks and both sides. It also contains unarmed defence and a written essay describing the history of the Japanese sword.
Nunchaku comprises of 15 kata which combine defensive and attacking techniques into realistic combat sequences. There are also 25 single and 12 double nunchaku combinations that can be learned and practiced whenever you have a few spare minutes.
The Kobudo DVD focuses on three Okinawan Weapons, Sai, Kama and Tonfa. It demonstrates three kata and five combinations with each weapon as well as partnerwork to defend against other wepons.
All Kata and combinations shown on the DVD's are performed at full speed and step-by-step slow motion so that you can analyse and practice each movement.
The DVD's are £25 each or as a special offer on the day of the seminar will be £60 for the set.

If anybody has any questions or queries regarding the seminar you can visit the Renten Goshin website at http://www.renten-goshin.co.uk where you can find contact details for Craig.

Hope to see everyone who came last time again and if I can meet some new faces that would be great too!
