Full Version: When would you go?

I asked a question last week, at work. It provoked some thought in the guys.

You're getting on with your daily routine when God shows up right next to you. He introduces himself then begins to tell you of an oversight with the population problems.
Rather than wipe people out he has decided to take a few million people from the here and now and place them in different periods of time. A fresh start in some historical place. A time of your own choice.
You will go as you are. Not like starting your life over as a child.

So.... When would you go?
Matt
Wow. Heavy stuff Si wink.gif

I'm quite happy here, but if I had to then probably turn of the last century. The world hadnt yet overpopulated, people had a better attitude, there was enough technology to make things comfortable, the depression hadnt hit (note to self - get secure employment wink.gif ) and I'd be so far ahead given education levels wink.gif. For that reason I wouldnt go into the future although it would be great to see how things pan out. I'm getting left behind with technology as it is - in the future I'd be an anachronism.

Good question..... Feudal Japan anyone?
Tom
AD 33. Judea.

"Look.....Jesus, isnt it? Don`t bother with all this "Dying for our sins" nonsense, it`ll only cause problems. If you want to do something positive, go to the 20th century and tell `em not to invent global warming"

You could start the whole craze of books in a different time.

I'd either go to the first half of the 15 hundreds, 'cause of my interest in the Tudor period. Or The last part of the 17 hundreds. Living in Whitby and try to get on board thw HMS Balk Endeavour. Again, another fascination of mine.

You could probably get on a boat then by hanging around the docks and waiting for a pressgang. You wouldn't get your choice of boat though tongue.gif

I would go back to ancient Egypt taking with me a few star charts to predict solar eclipses etc. If I could I take a solar powered flashlight. And to confuse the modern archaeologist I would leave a mc Donald wrapper and a coke bottle in a jet to be discovered tomb. laugh.gif

I heard it was Little Green Men who built the Pyramids?....

Or maybe just 15,000 slaves and a chap with a loud voice and a very long whip.......
