Hrm... looking around at what everyone else is doing i may be a bit out of place. I "studied" TKD for a few years, however I fell away from martial arts when i joined the military. Since then ive wanted to get back into "serious" martial arts, but so far have been rather unsuccessful in my search for something other than the YMCA versions of martial arts. When I was originaly in TKD, I considered myself pretty good, as I was whomping the schools blackbelts in sparing. Have to be honest tho... It was a parks & rec sorta program, with "no contact at any level." Always hated that rule... You dont have to make an opponents strike miss by much to make it a miss. Why use those crazy "movie kung-fu" moves that look flashy but just waste energy right? Erm.. my point is... lost several matches because I didn't "dodge enough" for it not to count as "points" for the opponent. Or LIGHTLY placing a foot upside somebody’s head...
So yup, im a ignorant novice.
Cheers brothers and sisters!
