Howdy all,

Now I have finally moved off my butt and signed up and attended my first lesson (and great it was too) I'm looking for useful tips and training information. I know there are various videos etc but being something of a web addict (no comments Matt) my first request is for any useful links you peeps are prepared to share which would be beneficial to a complete beginner?

cheers

Hey Les, good to see another joining the legion of GKR karateka.

Some websites worth having a look at:

http://www.gkrkarate.org/

I had a look for some others, but they're all basically the same as this one.

agree - matb's site is prob the most concise on the net. he hung about here for a while some time ago but hasnt put in an appearance for ages. There is also sempai, an online newsletter that alas seems to have been abandoned - maybe some interest might stir it up a bit.

Who knows? maybe one day the official site will finally be setup, but dont hold your breath wink.gif

You could also of course ask anything here and one of these esteemed ladies and gentlemen will steer you in the right direction biggrin.gif

Well, the official page might be up soon after all. If you go to www.gkrkarate.com, which used to be another unofficial page, you'll find yourself at www.gkr.com.au which is the official "coming soon been-like-this-for-an-eternity" page.

And I thought I'd take the time to mention in response to Les - DON'T - DO NOT - NO WAY buy the current videos since the new ones (on DVD too) will be out soon. Maybe even this year.

Maybe if you really want one you can ask for 1/2 price since there are new ones on the way? Ask the RM tongue.gif tongue.gif

Not sure quite when, but they're having the final touches put on them at the moment I believe.

thanks everyone, all suggestions now bookmarked.

I'll leave the questions until I know a little more (like when to say hai) wink.gif

I'll certainly hold off from buying the vids, great little snippet of info that cheers - will look forward to news of the new dvds though smile.gif
