Congratulations to Sensei Ken Tun, formerly of Bunbury and South Western Australia area on being appointed senior instructor for Region 13.

I suppose we should also say farewell to Sensei Nigel who Sensei Ken is replacing.

I had the privelege of watching Sensei Nigel grade to his Sandan (3rd dan) at the perth sensei camp.
Sensei Nigel has been a corner stone for GKR in perth for many years now and he will be sadly missed.

Congratulations to Sensei Ken.

I have known Sensei Nigel for a few years now, and known Sensei Ken even longer.

A bit sad to see Nigel go, but I guess that's his choice. He will be missed.

But at the same time it's good to have Ken back in Perth. I guess there will be a few people who will be travelling to train with him at least once every-so-often.

Sensei Nigel graded me to my yellow belt and my orange belt.
It will be sad to see him go.

I'm kind of looking forward to meeting Sensei Ken though.

I quite enjoyed training with Sensei Ken for the short time I had....

I know I will be training with him in R13 every now and then.
mainly because i work near his senior classes but also because i didnt really get much of a chance to train with him before.

I was here when sensai nigel came here and the standard of karate improved masivly from then and i gained a great respect for him and even a good friendship and have trained with sensai ken a few time before he took over and was impressed and am greatly impressed with his attitude to karate. Then what would you expect after training with sesai Bob for many a years.

ah yes...

i have fortunately had the honor of training with sensei nigel a couple of times.
he was filling in for an instructor i used to train with a while ago.
it was definately an experience. japanese.gif

just like in all the public classes, each regional instructor has great strenghths to offer their students and ive enjoyed my training sessions with all four of them (being senseis ken, grant, nigel and bill)

i look forward to training with them some more and hopefully some others (when and IF i ever get over east that is)
