Anyway found out in last class that my dojo is to close in about two weeks as head sensei only been about twice in two or so years and he got trouble, i've been there nearly every week for a year and trouble been small and cause he got trouble he wants to close dojo sad.gif . would love dojo to stay open but what can i do. It's ok saying change dojo's but i would like to keep same sensei but she is moving. A couple other dojo's about but not the same. help.gif

Hi there - and welcome aboard smile.gif

I'd say there is more to this than just your instructors wishes. I would fathom the only reason a dojo would close is poor student numbers (anyone know of any closures and reasons?).
From your post I'm not sure I understand the reasons, but if there is a large group of students who want the dojo to stay then contacting your regional manager is the only way. He is the one who orchestrates opening and closing of dojos. You should discuss this with them, you'll them more approachable than you think wink.gif

Thanks for reply.
As far as i know the sensei in question is the new regional manager. There is only 5 of us in class, but why close when the same dojo is used twice other times, another class and the sensei grading class and to top it of the school uses the funds with great satisfation from the kids. Why should we lose out when its not our class. Although i've told another dojo will open up soon in roughly same area but that means waiting and i don't want to. One more thing i have been advised not to speak to main person involved.

Doesnt sound promising does it sad.gif
If its your RM who's made the decision theres not really a lot you can do about it if his minds made up.
Hope it all works out for you........

sorry to hear you are going to lose your regular training session.
i know how much we all get attached to our classes and our instructors.

i have had some "unwanted" changes in my training in the past year or so, and although i was disapointed at the changes or a sensei leaving i was very impressed with the new outcome in my training and with my new instructor (just in case he reads this).

sometimes a change is for the better even if you cant see it just yet.

keep training hard and im sure everything will work out just fine for you.

Thanks for your replies.
Yeah i know maybe a change will do me good but my son's not to keen; something will sort out i hope rolleyes.gif classes near me seem to getting fewer and fewer. Like Matt said if there minds are made up then there made up ( i don't suppose veiwing my thoughts to Kancho would do anything either so i'll leave it as he's a busy man.
When i last mentioned that it's my RM closing dojo down, it's not him scratchy.gif it's the next one up in line.
By the way i'm in the uk region 2.
