Does anyone know if these will be held this year, and if so when/where?

Thanks!

I was told from another site that its out at homebush bay on the 29th or 30th of November.

Yup, that's right. I think.

Anyway I'm sure it is Homebush Bay, NSW at the end of November.

Anyone thinking of going?

Gday Mick,

Yeah I'm definitely going and trying to get a group of us from R28. I would be happy to organise for people from R12 and R13 as well. Steve and myself had an absolute ball in Birmingham and I think a lot of people would benefit from seeing top flight kata and kumite.
Anyway, cheapest airfares were about $360-$400 and accomodation from $30pn sharing a sh#tty motel (hey but would be good for a laugh).

Cheers

ah heck....I'll be in Sydney the weekend before......some rugby game or something wink.gif

Last years in Melbourne was a lot of fun and would love to do it again......

yeah i'll be there, also we are trying to get all of the wa state team over, it sounds like fun, especially with the NAS nationals the weekend after.

I would really like to go to this. But not if I dont get graded soon. Its really annoying I know I am ready. And my sensai is really good and knows a lot but he keeps giving me stuff to work on and now I have missed a couple of weeks I don't know if he will send me cos he says he likes people to turn up to class. It doesnt matter if your good enough if you miss too many classes in a month he says he can't send you. How many is too many does anyone know?

Why do you have to be a green belt to enter the tournament?
It just puts you into the next division and makes things harder for you.

Big deal if you haven't graded yet. I've been an orange belt for just about for ever and you don't see me hassling for a grade.

Orange is such a nice colour anyway.
Enjoy it while you can.

It'll happen one day.

Yeah, but it gets damned annoying to be stuck at one level for too long.

You shouldn't be worried about getting a different colour belt. Just aim to improve your Karate. Isn't that what we are really trying to achieve.
Someone was telling me a story about Sensei Gavin who is training towards his 4th Dan (I think). Anyway, it takes about 4 years from 3rd Dan. When asked how he stays motivated he said that he breaks down each technique and spends time trying to perfect each little bit of a technique.
