WELCOME all...

It's great to see so many new faces on the forum (or user names at least).

trev, rowds, kcickyerbutt, aranea, trevor, dietrir, willy wonka and mighty to name a few.

Don't be shy. We don't bite. Maybe a little nibble every now and then but it doesn't hurt much.

Jump on in a post away.
All comments and questions are welcome.

Hi Susan/Matt and cheers for the welcome.

I've been a GKR student for about four months and I have to be honest although I enjoy it, it was just a bit of a hobby and something to do saturday morning but since attending a seminar hosted by Shihan last week ( Birmingham,UK) I feel that my eyes have opened to a whole new world. The man is a legend and my only regret is not attending the world cup....but I'm now putting extra effort in to attend the next world cup in Australia. Watch out cos the god of chocolate is coming!!!!LOL :thumbwink:
Matt
Hey there WW...you'd be surprised how many of us joined for similar reasons and got really into it.
Hope to see you here for the next world cup.
Shihan's something else eh?

I saw the topic of this thread and thought it was for me sad.gif Oh well!

Hello everyone, my name is Big Mac, I have been learning martial arts for over twenty years now. I live in sunny sapporo with my beautiful wife yokiko.

A few years ago I did teach Go kan ryu and when I get to Australia, UK or USA, I always go to GKR training, because the people are THE BEST!!! :thumbwink:

Its great to see some familiar names here and it’s also nice to meet some new people as well.

Please be patient with my spelling mistakes, when you get old, your mind forgets really important things like… where is the any key?

I look forward to reading all your comments and if I can contribute what little I know about karate, I’m sure I’ll make a comment or two tongue.gif

Just a quick note to say thanks to GKR for bringing over Shihan for the class on Sunday.

It was really insipring to see such liquid steel in motion coupled with such an easy going guy - and what a great communicator and teacher.

There would have been 150+people there for the up to blue belt class and I would say everyone came away having learned something fundamental, and feeling inspired.

Great stuff

i hate this damn cold my son gave to me, so we both missed the shihan senimar oh well he'll be back sometime i guess. mmmm maybe all you west australian students would not have minded me sharing the bug so i could train with shihan (seeing gkr is a caring and sharing club maybe i should have shared wink.gif )
