Date: Monday 19 Dec
Venue: Most likely Jandakot Hall - North Lake Road Jandakot, Perth WA (to be confirmed)
Time: 6.30
All welcome regardless of school, style, or grade. Conducted by Dale Hunt whose Sydney based schools teach five systems ranging from sport oriented thru ground fighting to pure self defence and blades and weapons, and possibly a few 'guest' instructors. This is a great chance to come and meet some forum members and train in something a little different that you would otherwise possibly not experience. The emphasis is on having fun (remember that? I'm sure it was part of the reason we all started training in something), meeting some new people and mutual sharing of knowledge. Plan is to have a few drinks and maybe a bbq afterwards.
Would be great to put some faces to names and finally meet up with more of you - even if you never registered and only ever browsed anonymously.
Please consider coming - stay as long or as little as you like.
PM/email me with any queries or if you are interested.

Thanks Dale, excellent seminar, just hope I can remember some of it, but most importantly use it (if I ever need to)
It was great to be taught by someone who knows so much about martial arts, yet doesn't have the ego to match it (

no Mick I am not referring to you)
BTW I hope you guys don't remember how to make those wrist locks work on me

.... and Dale don't tell 'em again!

Now that the nerves in my brachial plexus have started firing again and I can use my arms once more....

Certainly a very practical class of working techniques. Its amazing how simple a technique needs to be to be effective. Doesnt have to be flashy. Simple is easier to remember and harder to stuff up. Especially when you are the demo... you remember exactly where that bit that hurt was

Great class Dale, thank you very much!

Hi Guys and Girls
This is the first chance that I have had to get on a computer.
Thanks for the wonderful reception and I must say, what a great group of people. I hope I passed on some information that you found useful and that you enjoyed the training. None of us knows everything so by sharing knowledge we all improve.
Thanks to Matt and Mick for allowing me to come to training, it is always nice to find other open minded people willing to listen to someone elses ideas and I'll get that info I promised to you in mid January. Instructors like Mick are rare and those of you with the chance to train with him should appreciate the experience - not many would allow an unknown entity into their class and then volunteer with Matt to be the crash dummy.
I still have a few more days left here in Perth and what a great place. If anyone else gets the chance to visit, make sure that you do and take the opportunity to meet the people from this forum. All are great people and I am going home with fond memories such as Micks parents in groundfighting, Susans payback, Mels wristlock and Matts first cuddle choke and so on.
Thanks again to all who came and made me feel welcome, I hope I can return the favour if any of you make the trip east. Have a great Christmas.

Some hilights..unfortunately my ancient camera wasnt quite up to the task on the night so not as many came out as would have liked....

Mick being restrained

Its fun to get the rare opportunity to partner mick

Till he gets his own back

Why does everyone laugh at the dummy??

A bit of a knife demo

I wasn't laffin' at you, honest! I was just enjoying the session.

In fact, if you look closely you'll see that I'm smiling while being squished and choked as well...

Well I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed watching Matt and Mick as the "demo" guys this time...
It was nice to see someone else getting thrown around and ending up on the floor, other than me

Although I still have the remnants of the bruise on my knee from where Dale showed me the variation on that wristlock... but hey it was all in good fun!

Well I'm finally home and after the great weather in Perth, I came back to Sydney in the middle of a heat wave. High 40's today.
Just wanted to once again say thanks to Mick and Matt for hosting the event and to everyone else for coming out to say hi and have a play.
Now everyone just has to keep practicing those new wrist locks on Mel and we should all get a laugh. Especially now I can put names to faces.
