Hi Terry, I would love to come but I have a wedding to go too that day, keep us informed about any other seminars you might hold in the future.

Rocket

P.S. How did you get that church hall, I tried to get that hall a couple of months ago, they told me that it was just about to fall over and that they didnt hire it anymore because it was to be bulldozed.
Terry
Thanks wombatOneSix and your right white or black belt everyone will benifit from this seminar.

rocket73 It's a pity you you have a wedding that day and can't make it but I will post info on any
other seminars comming up. I have had the church hall for many years and are the only person
apart from a morning yoga group that the church will allow to use it.

Hi Terry,

Just one question out of curiosity rather than anything else.On Sensei Ravey's site there are some photos from a grading and there's a ritual at the end that involves whipping with the belt.Is this peculiar to Sensei Ravey's school or do all Goju schools carry out this practice?
Terry
Hi tonyk,

The belt whipping is something sensei Ravey started many years ago at a training camp (Gassuku)
it then became sort of a ritual and eventually became part of the Black Belt grading.

When you have just spent a few days of hard training and then endured a couple of hours of grading
finishing with all the sparring with no rest breaks a little belt whipping seems like nothing.

It's all good for the "Fighting Spirit"

I hope that answers your question.

Terry
