Hey Guys & Girls

I am heading to Perth in December on a family holiday and at the same time we are considering an investment property over there. So I thought I may as well get a few opinions. Can anyone give any advice on suburbs, etc.

Looking at spending approx $500k, will be rented by family, so I want it in a nice area. Min 3 beds/2 baths. How realistic is this figure in the market.

Looked at the web but hard to tell which suburb is good and which is not. In Sydney you can have a good and bad suburb right beside each other with significant effects on the price and growth potential.

500K gives you lots of options dale......

depends what you're after....
do you want river? ocean? hills? city?

I think closer to ocean would be more appreciated. I know I live on acres in the North West of Sydney and would sometimes appreciate a smaller block near the beach. Maybe one day I wll end up living there myself

Have a real estate agent in the family - suggested areas like Victoria Park, East Vic Park your best bet for houses. If townhouse then Mount Hawthorn, Leederville are great for rentals. Prices have gone bonkers recently, but your 500k will still get something in a nice-ish suburb.

Ocean might be pushing it however, but you never know. sad.gif

if you want ocean but dont mind being a fair distance from the city you might want to check out warnbro (rockingham - but make sure you look in old warnbro not new warnbro) houses there are 3 -4 bed 2 bath going for 300 - 500 k and it is quite nice to live in (some dodgy areas nearby but that's fairly normal for many places)...

let us know what you end up looking into...
