Susan
On Monday May 19, Kancho Sullivan will be doing a special class for all student and instructors.

This is said to be a physical class followed by a discussion with Kancho afterwards where he will be telling us all about his life long journey through karate and GKR (apparantly it will be told differently to the last one which for senseis only).

i may be wrong but i heard the discusion was going to be before the class, either way it will be awsome to train and talk with kancho again.
Susan
i think because no one knows how the class will be run exactly.
until kancho actually begins the class all RMs are just guessing at this stage.

either of us could be right. both of us may be wrong.

i guess we'll have to show up to find out for ourselves biggrin.gif
omega
either way i am sure it will be a great class and as always very informative, so i will sure as hell be there.

Just to put in perspective latest news is that there will be 1.5 hours of training, and about the same of talk/discussion at the end. Starting around 1800/1830
Matt
Thanks for the heads up guys....any idea of venue/s?
ie - one for all of perth?
multi region?
omega
As of last night nothing had been confirmed but by this time next week we should have definitive information.

Sionnagh
Surely it will be in Region 12? I mean, after all, where else could you possibly have it?

Besides, choosing a venue in R12 makes it relatively central and close to the highways for whichever direction you come from.

Hey Mick i have reason to believe that it will probably be the same place that the ss gavin special class was held, After all it is relativly central and it has proably the best floor around and just so much space.

Ian :thumbwink:
Susan
well...
since everything else that's on that week is in South Lake (leisure centre) im assuming it will be in the same place
we already have BB grading on friday 16th, Judging and refereeing seminar on sunday 18th

Saturday 17th Golf day organised by Region 13 (can anyone update on this?)

Sunday 18th Tournament Referee Seminar - Sensei Gavin, South Lake Leisure Centre 10am - 2:30 pm - cost $35 but get your referee accreditation and souvenir GKR tie. biggrin.gif

I'd LOVE to be able to meet Kancho Sullivan.
That would just make all of my recent training worth something special.

It's a pity most of those events are Sensei only events, and I have to work on the night of Kancho's class too.

I hope most or all of you are going to the Kancho class. I'd love to hear all about it.
omega
hey kancho doesn't come over very often, so i would say get or take the night off, it will be well worth it. Kancho's classes are fantastic.
Sionnagh
I asked last night and was told that they can't get south lakes for the monday night. Already booked for something apparently.

Yep. Make sure you take plenty of water and food...for the trip there. However there are plenty of places to buy fuel on the way there.

Could have been worse...

CraigL
Hey Sandgropers!

I did RAAF Pilot Course back in 1994 (RAAF Base Pearce) and met my wife in Perth - does that make me an honourary WA'ian?

My missus is from Kalamunda! I remember driving through Midland many a times, and even bought my home stereo in Midland - some components I still have today! When you see a PC-9 zip past, wave!! I hope to get back there to be an instructor one day too, so I keep an eye on your comments for this reason - you may have a surprise visitor one day!

Chill-out about Kancho - he's a genuinely nice guy, talks a lot, has a tremendous Kiai, talks a lot, enjoys a chat ('cos he talks a lot) ... but seriously, relax! He is knowledgeable but tends to waffle on about subjects he thinks people want to hear - sometimes you have to ask the questions you want the answers to.

Matt
Heya Craig

Since you had the good taste to steal one of our women I guess that makes you one of us biggrin.gif
Still in the RAAF? Where are you based?

I spent some time at Amberley on exercise in my army days. Was awesome watching the F-111's .
Sionnagh
I don't know if that's enough to make CraigL one of us.

May be enough for us not to try and run you over crossing the road though mate biggrin.gif

Did anyone end up going to this?

I haven't really heard much about it and no one from my dojos went to it.

I would love to know how it all went.
Sionnagh
It was very cold in the Midland dojo...
