Full Version: Yipes, I've been GKR brainwashed

I used to think I was my own man, had free will and an open mind..

..methinks my mind was a little too open? I started training with GKR late 2002, and have had a year without GKR until recently...but that was enough for GKR to permiate its way into my very being..

OK, maybe not quite so drastic as I made out - allthough I did raise a few eybrows this evening ohmy.gif

I do lots of stuff apart from martial arts (am I allowed to confess that on here?). One of the many extracurricular activities I partake in is puppy training; well actually owner training, my puppy knows exctly what to do - it's me that's being difficult wink.gif

What's this to do with GKR? Tonight I was there, along with thirty or so other humans being trained, and no I wasn't performing to scratch.. The instructor comes over to me and gently starts to explain what I'm doing wrong, and I should do this and then that etc... After a short while I notice the instructor looking at me a little odder than usual, and he's not alone, the other humans being trained were looking at me rather oddly...

...Then I start to pay attention to what I am saying...to every suggestion and correction he makes..

...guess what it is yet? - Only Hi - that's all I can say! Hi, to everything!! Doh.gif

...he just went away shaking his head by the end.

And my puppy, well she just wagged her tail even more smile.gif

Thanks GKR!

Hi JD,

Don't worry about it too much... it just happens...

My boss called from the other office earlier "Can you bring me that so-and-so file please?" I was in the middle of something and just shouted back "hai sensei"... oh well. He just chuckled. He's really cool anyway and let's me finish early on Tuesdays so I can make it for double class.

I've also bowed in placed other than dojos... THAT gets you really strange looks of people around you... My husband usually pretends not to know me when I do things like that... Doh.gif

Hi Hayabusa wavehi.gif , wow what a username smile.gif

It begins to worry me when karate surfaces in your 'regular' life; all of a sudden jeans are no good for you...

...why?

....because you can't kick high enough in jeans!

I used to get by just fine in my old life pre-karate B)

Jeans? I actually practice kicking sometimes with high heels. That's what I wear most of the time, if someone attacks me, I need to be able to balance (and use the heel as effective weapon ph34r.gif )

I really think brain washing works...

PS: Thanks re username. I don't have one though, stuck with Kawasaki...

Oh please I think id bowed coming through every door at school before I left.

At least the teachers prefered me saying Hai to calling them mum.

I tend to *think* "hai" more so than say it. Most often when I am at work and one of my supervisors tells me to do something, or when I am at school and one of my more serious teachers is talking to me about something. Rarely actually say it but yeah... still goes through my head when I'm talking to someone. Doh.gif
